Trading & Economy Guide

Master the Toilet Paper economy, trading strategies, and resource management to optimize your escape route.

Understanding Toilet Paper (TP)

Toilet Paper is the primary currency in Dig to Escape. You earn TP by digging up items and selling them to traders or at the guard's desk. TP is essential for purchasing tools, food, storage upgrades, and key items like Illegal Keycards.

How to Earn TP

  • Dig items and sell at guard's desk
  • Trade items through vents at secret selling spots
  • Exchange items with prisoner NPCs
  • Higher value items = more TP

What to Spend TP On

  • Tool upgrades (25-80 TP)
  • Storage sacks (20-65 TP)
  • Food for energy (varies)
  • Key items: Keycard (200 TP), Crowbar (100 TP)
  • Dynamite (12 TP each)

Early Game Trading
Start by digging common items like wallets, shoes, bones, and skulls. These can be sold at the guard's desk or secret selling spots through vents for your first Toilet Paper.
  • Common items (plates, sponges, toothpaste) sell for 5-15 TP
  • Uncommon items (sponges) have higher value
  • First trade typically yields 13-20 TP
  • Use initial TP to buy food (burgers, chicken) for energy
Mid Game Resource Management
As you progress, focus on collecting higher-value items and managing your inventory efficiently. Trade strategically during lunch breaks and free time.
  • Legendary items (gold bars, trophies) sell for much more TP
  • Upgrade your sack early (Small Sack 20 TP, Great Sack 40 TP)
  • Trade during lunch breaks when guards are less active
  • Stockpile TP for key purchases like Illegal Keycard (200 TP)
